A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words
For my “selfie” collage, I wanted to convey the main aspects of who I see myself to be. The title of my project represents how complex a single human being can be, no matter how it is depicted in a single photograph or more. It was quite difficult to represent who I am with one photo of myself along with five other images on top of it all. Despite the complexities in this simple project, I began to maneuver at least a portion of my interests and loves in a single product. My first layer (of my dog), represents my love for animals and family; he’s my rock and I care deeply for him as well as other animals/my family. My second layer (the money) represents my education and where I want to be in life. Like every teenager these days, I value wealth and I want to earn a good education and be able to support myself and future family. The next layer is of Arches, a national park in Moab, Utah. I went camping there with my boarding school a couple of times so it represents all the strong relationships I have built along with my love for nature. My fourth layer (coffee) represents adventure because an exciting adventure always needs caffeine to fuel you up! My last layer is of a bottle of Coca-Cola, which represents my latest life endeavor. Over the last weekend, I worked with Coca-Cola to build an anti-cyberbully app and raise awareness. So, this layer represents my deep-rooted cares for the people in this world. In the end, I think this project represents me more spiritually than externally, but I still think it has an accurate view on how I want to live my life.
